so, i've got this little Cupcake coming my way from a fellow Anime doll collector on another forum.

$60shipped, she'll be missing her gold-plated necklace and earrings,
but none of that is anything i can't whip up a superior quality replacement for,
if i end up finding myself compelled to.

in any case, she'll be a fine complement to my TAKARA brand AMG Belldandy...

finally getting round to working on repainting the vinyl boots and gloves to better match the clothing.

i've gotten way better with handling the paintbrush since my early novice plastic modelling days of the 90's,

but even so, it's still not exactly easy to get myself to apply anything like the sort of precision i find myself demanding these days;

since i've been on something of a roll with the hobbyists' paintbrush as of late,
i figured i'd add a little more detail to the doll herself.

perhaps a little more detail than some might consider decent, mind you,

i know. it's happened before, though, so i tend to err on the cautious side these days...

i've been working on a new set of undies for her over the last couple days, about Finished now,
though i think i'm going to have to make a few fine adjustments here and there to improve the fit some;

so, i noticed how similar the Sailor Suit i have this doll in is to the one Skuld's android Sigel
apparently wears at some time in the Manga's continuity, and so i brought skuld's own uniform here the rest of the way to close parity;

actually, the fellow i purchased the AZONE Fate Stay/Night Saber 1/6 doll from sent me some bonus items,

including a sweet little pair of red shoes there that do indeed complete that "Segel" look seen above just about perfectly;

finally got her socks just right, IMHO anyway. also, problem with the old VOLKS "Excellent Base" doll bodies such as Skuld's own "EB Mini" here

are that the two-piece elbow joints, molded from a rugged nylon, are friction fit into the upper/lower arms, and twisting them in their slots

during poses tends to make them loosen rapidly to the point of coming apart.


i was going to address this by supergluing the joint halves in their respective arm slots, but i instead opted to paint the nylon tabs

with a couple coats of fleshtone model paint, which resulted in elbow joints that now stay VERY firmly in place.

this kind of sacrifices the radial arm movement either end of the elbow, which aided in poseability,

but it's a small sacrifice in light of arms that no longer work apart under pressure of arm poses.


one day, i might just move her to a more rugged similarly-scaled body such as the AZONE "Pure Neemo"

but for the time being, she's cute-as-a-button, and still flexible enough to attain a handful of generally pleasing static poses...
