And congrats on getting FES in your area! Looks like it's an awesome game. Yes. FES should be better than the first version. I'm just glad Koei got the rights to it so we get it by October. Something other than figures to look forward to. And having played the original P3, I don't like the canon end, but the extras in FES are a real treat! ^^ As for VP, the originals are always expensive, especially if they're popular or hard to find. The worst thing for me with those games is that I can't play them on my PS2, due to the region coding... Modded systems cost much more than that game you're after! ;_;

Darn it...why is that game so expensive? T_T One of the few PSX games that had limited copies because of the upcoming PS2 release of that year (2000). FES should be better than the first version. I started playing FES recently and read about the changes. Wished they never took out the infinite stamina for the day before the full moon.

Do you think there's a chance Koei might put out a special package for FES in your area - like an art book or CD? It sounds like FES deserves some special goodies. ^^ One of the few PSX games that had limited copies because of the upcoming PS2 release of that year (2000). Oh, so it's like Rhapsody and Suikoden II. A shame Sui II never got a reprint.

Suikoden II did get a re-release for the PSP. It came out as a compilation of one and two but it was for Japan only.

Thanks, L. Yeah, FES is going to be great.
But guess what?
I got a Nintendo Wii!!!!
Yep, I went and bought the system today, and even though it's a used system, it's excellent! The guy traded it in as he got sick of it. It had been a prize, and he'd not had it for long. So I bought it from EBgames together with Super Mario Galaxy for $20 off retail, so it's all good! ^^
I bought the component cable (naturally) so I can see the games as they're meant to be, and I gotta say - SMG is awesome! Many people say that the Wii has only barely different graphics from the GC, but this game isn't just a bit better than past GC Mario games - it leaves them in the dust!
If anyone can remember way back when the sustem first came out (The thread's probably still there), I said that the Wiimote looked painful and I was sure that I'd never be able to use it? Well, that's history now, as the Wiimote is very comfy and isn't a pain to hold. The Nunchuk is fine too, and I'm glad it's able to not be totally without merit.
So, I now own a next-gen console! Wowee! ^_^

As the saying goes "don't judge a book by its cover."
Whatever you do don't turn on WiiConnect24, well maybe occasionally, but leaving the Wii on standby too long could overheat the GPU. Then you'll have to send it in for repairs.

Congratulations on scoring one of the sweetest consoles ever created. ;D You must tell me how Mario Galaxy is. It looks like it's as good as Mario 64, maybe even better.

Mario Galaxy is on par with Mario 64. There is also a little co-op option in SMG if you have another Wiimote but the only thing the 2nd player will be doing is collecting starbits, pointing and stunning enemies.

SMG is way better than Mario 64, at least in my opinion. This game leaves you feeling almost immersed in the world of Mario, and the challenge is dumbed down a bit in some respects, as it's all about exploration as much as fighting bosses. There are quite a few sweet parts in the game (Bee Mario anyone?), and I'm in love with Rosalina! ^_^
The Wii may not have 1080p graphics or a DVD player on it, but immediatley I felt vindicated when playing and seeing just what the Wii can do. I"m sure that it'll surpass these feelings with the newer games, and that's just perfick ^^

I need to get a Sony PSP - I picked up the Dracula X Chronicles game (so I can once again own Rondo of Blood) but I don't have a PSP to play it on :X

Man, you guys are making me regret not buying SMG sooner. M64 is a personal favorite of mine and if Galaxy is able to top it...that's really saying something! ^^ @sid: Sounds like you need to start hoarding some money away.

SMG really does top M64. It's an awesome game. Takes a bit of getting used to (the controls are innovative and different), but after the initial setbacks it's a near-perfect game! ^^

But do you ever get dizzy playing this game? I've watched the online videos and trailers and it looks like Mario's bouncing all over the place!

No, I never get dizzy. He does bounce everywhere, and you can travel around upside down too, but I really love that! ^^
