I knew I'd been a big dummy and mixed one of the figures I had received a little over a week ago with the newer big group.....This is the one which should have been in the above group photo instead of the hyper vibration armor figure. My mistake.

My entire March 20015 shipping all got push back That's a gorgeous figure. Sooo far, only one of my 2015 pre-orders have gotten pushed back. It's been moved back by two weeks though. I have to assume it's still in that range because it only shoved it into the next month. No big deal for me.

Picky picky picky........ . darn right!!! we're not paying $20.00 for these figures Believe me..I know, I've learned all to well by now. I guess at my age though ( sound like I'm ancient now...geesh! ) I'm starting to look at things a tad bit different than I did at 30 or 25. To me, these are most definently luxury items. I certainly want to stay clear of the bootlegs...you know you will get less quality there ( interresting though in reading some posts on other forums where some posters don't mind buying them if they can't get their grail figures ). I'm still trying to figure out if one of mine that came as part of a dual purchase off E-bay early on is a bootleg. It's not one I particularly wanted, she looks good and all just not what I wanted and part of the package deal. I suspect she actually isn't though. Back on topic though...as one who once worked in the hobby industry long ago, I quickly learned that different manufacturers within the same industry just produce different quality and even within the same company themselves, can produce different grades of quality. It was never a good thing, but you learned that, well for example, the Japanese produced excellent aircraft and car models ( generally any model subjects ). Then within that group, Tamiya stood out above the others out of Japan. You also paid more for them. American brands were hit and miss and that was because many of their models were using the same molds that were in use back in the early 1960's. You could see the lack of quality in them and it took very good skills to make them shine...There in was the challenge. Other kit's being brand new in the 80's ( yes, that was when I started working ) were better than their earlier counter parts but nowhere near the Japanese counterparts. Then came category issues in the American market with quality. Cars generally got the best attention to fit and detail with aircraft a close second. Model ships fitting somewhere closely behind aircraft but severely lacking in detail. Then the stepchild of all of them..sci-fi. Model companies in America never took sci-fi seriously. The Star Trek line and Star Wars really and only generally looked like their screen counter parts. General shapes were there but proportions were off or slight shape variations like the taper on the original Enterprise's warp nacelles was almost non-existent in the model. No better failure could perhaps be used than MPC's ( later Ertle's ) Millennium Falcon. It looks a lot like the Falcon but proportions are way off and details are missing or scewered. The side wall is far too thick and the bridge sits to high ( or perhaps to low? ) due to this major flaw. Of course, they never attempted to scale ships really well realitive to each other either generally speaking. The X-wing, Y-wing, A-wing, B-wing, Falcon, Tie Fighter, Tie-Interceptor, Tydirium could all have been easily researched and scaled well together instead of the off scale approach. Thank goodness for the later Finemolds versions even though they cost a ton-o-money. Then again, all models today cost a ton and the same issues still apply. Most kits coming out of the Asian area still rule supreme. On a side note, I dug out my old Falcon I built about 18 years or so ago and did some fiber optics work on. It's the only time I ever did. The new Star Wars trailer prompted me to dig it out from a box in the garage and clean it up and see if it still would work. If you want, let me know and I'll post the pics I took of it even though it is off topic.

1/24 scale model cars... REVELL all the WAY! LOVE their Import Tuner Series The level of details and customization was absolutely fun.
When you compare REVELL models to their Japanese counter-part.. REVELL had them beat!
however the company either has fall on hard times or has a stupid licensing department cuz, all i see are the same boring muscle cars kits over and over and over

the last item from Hobby Search (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/) this item was hiatus for almost 3 yrs It's a gorgeous figure. I recently ordered a pre-owned from the series. I'll have to wait for it to arrive because she isn't one of the more regularly seen characters...which is why she caught my attention.

Had them both now for about a week, well on display for about a week. Ryuko was the one that caused such grief trying to get her.

The funny thing is...In the end I ended up with two of the Ryoku figures. Not joking either and I have no idea how. That said, not fessing up the other one. She's staying in the box. They give you the option of displaying her with the scissor blade in full extension mode or regular...Well, com'on...What do you think any sensible person is going to go with?

the last item from Hobby Search (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/) this item was hiatus for almost 3 yrs I told you that I recently ordered a figure from this anime series. It was of a character that I had never seen. To be fair, I have not seen the series itself and have really only seen a few of the primary characters in figure form and I own two variations of Ikaruga. One is her in 1/8th by Phat and the other is by Dwell in 1/7 and is the "damage" version. The figure I just received is also by Dwell, in 1/8 and is Yagyuu. What blows my mind is that AmiAmi got it to me in only 4 days. That shocked the heck out of me! I've been considering getting the series in Blu-ray off Aniplex U.S. since the basic premise just seems fun. Maybe I should do so.
