so, who else here is a fan of Fujishima-sensei's masterpiece? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oh_My_Goddess! i have a small collection, centered around the 2005/2006 T.V. series which i absolutely adore. i have yet to see or own the 1993 OAV series, so i need to do myself a favor someday soon and procure it on LD and/or DVD. at any rate, here's my modest-but-growing collection, feel free to show us all your own;

I am SHOCKED that a self proclaimed AMG fan has never seen the OAV series----that's the START OF EVERYTHING!!!!! Okay, now that I've gotten that off my chest. . . those old vhs tapes were one of the first anime purchases I made back in the early 90s, when I first discovered anime (officially Guyver from US Rendition was my first anime series in America). To this day i have NOT seen the TV series nor the movie. I bought the mangas for a time until I clearly didn't have space to continue buying this looonggggg running series. The OAV series was just PERFECTION in my view---boy meets girl in a unique way, clear chemistry between the two with a mysterious past link, family relatives that create obstacles for the lovebirds, good solid animation for that era, WONDERFUL MUSIC (both op and ed theme songs were top notch imo). I was a fan of the OAV, and over the years bought a lot of figures, some pricey anime cels, music cds, and trading cards. Tasuke, you need to do yourself a favor and WATCH THOSE TAPES ASAP!!!

I am SHOCKED that a self proclaimed AMG fan has never seen the OAV series----that's the START OF EVERYTHING!!!!! Tasuke, you need to do yourself a favor and WATCH THOSE TAPES ASAP!!! me and my sister just sat down to all five parts last evening. i really really like how Bell-chan was drawn, and adore her fashion sense. that aside, the series did have flaws, IMO. too brief, trying to cram too much into too few eps, a typical OAV issue, admittedly, so nothing particularly unusual there. being 1990's AIC, it resembled "Tenchi Muyo!" just a bit too much for my taste, and wasted far too much of it's brief combined running time on silly hijinks, AIC's typical 1990's practice for weaseling out of writing actual story, IMHO. also, the soundtrack was often a bit on the overbearing side of things, making the whole production all too often feel a bit too much like some cheap Soap Opera. that said, i did very much like the animation style, and that, combined with certain occasional elements of the soundtrack, added up to a very nicely overwhelmingly nostalgic feel that brought back fond memory of my earliest days of Anime fandom, and my long lost youth of that time. all considered, better late than never. i'm glad it has finally taken it's place in my collection. now i just need to find a way to add the Mini Goddess series to my roster...

Remember, back in those days the animation is hand drawn, rather than computer generated. AIC put in a LOT of work to make it come out nicely for that era. True, the series was short, but that left more room for the sequels. Believe me, if Ah! My Goddess wasn't as popular a series as it was back in the 90s, the TV seasons would NOT have been made.

it certainly took a while for those T.V. seasons to show up, though. 1993/2005, excluding the Mini Goddess series and movie...
