Realizing you've misjudged....
I've always been good at judging things in general when it comes to placing things like furniture, figuring how different woods will match together, colors, etc. It started when I was young and began drawing and started being able to do so with pretty good ability. Used to really tick off my ex-wife because she would struggle for hours trying to figure out something in the house related to things of that type of nature and I'd come home and withing several minutes I would have things exactly set up as she had been struggling to figure out for hours or she would get mad when I would easily match colors for a project she was doing and had been trying to figure out for some time. I think that also came from doing art from such a young age.
So, where am I going with this? I stopped at Home Depot on the way home yesterday to get a shelf and some mounting brackets for the living room. It's time to start displaying all the Queen's Blade figures I've gotten up to this point. At first, I was thinking an 8 foot shelf but went away from that because of the wall it is going on and what is already there. I was thing a 6 footer would be best. Good thing there because that's the biggest they have in the style and color I wanted. Next was brackets..matching the type of hardware on my furniture, lamps and curtain rods ( yes I am anal, especially after 17 years of marriage with someone who couldn't organize or clean anything ). I get home with the new prize, work for about 50 minutes and get it all mounted and secure...It looks good. Here comes the misjudgment...I start carefully unpacking and FIGHTING WITH EXCELLENT MODEL CORE'S CAST OFF clothing as I prep all these lil' ladies one at a time to display them. This is a slow, SLOW process. As each one goes up on the shelf and shelf space slowly dissappears, I realize 6 feet isn't gonna do it. DOH! Sooo...it's going to be another trip to the store for either a 4 foot ( preferably if they have it ) or a 3 foot shelf. I still have 5 boxed figures yet to open and something like 5 or 6(?) Excellent Model Core figures left to get to complete my collection PLUS the 1/7th scale Lightning General. This doesn't include the one figure I do have coming somewhere out there in the ether right now. Anyhow, for your amusement at my dilemma;
