hey peeps. i just got around, -after putting it off for a while now- to picking myself up a secondary spare of this generally under-appreciated 1/6 doll of my favorite female Anime character, Mikuru Asahina of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" fame. my first example of her, i got back around 2009 or so, paid around $140shipped for her. this one, i found from a U.S. seller for $75shipped. believe it or not, this now copy seems to have a much better face, with smoother paint apps. her face looks pretty well dead-on to the mfr. photos that had instantly sold me on her back in 2009. i had always thought something looked off about my first copy, and i had, somewhat disapointedly, attributed it to the usual differences prototype and production example. well i am certainly elated to see that that was actually not the case, and that my Mikuru, pretty much exactly as i had initially seen her, actually exists as a mass-product, and that i now have one of my own... yeah, don't know why Megahouse never had their factory(s)applying such a detail to their dolls... i suppose it rally is something of a blessing in disguise, since i have a TSUKUDA HOBBY Anime doll that actually HAS factory-applied mouth/lip detail... and somebody on the line had done a sloppy job, totally ruining her face, and even medical grade 91% iso alchohol wont remove that factory paint. with TAMIYA COLOR acrylic plastic model colors, at least, they are quite soluble with iso alchohol, and 91% will dissolve away even long dry/cured TAMIYA COLOR. it is a perfect thinner, handy, on a clean fine brush, for lightly thinning down such facial applications to a suitably fine and delicate finish... ^--- i don't think Megahouse ever wanted to commit to the 1/6 Dolls, if they did you would have some very similar to REAL ACTION HEROES line up

for a company that did not wish to commit to 1/6 character dolls, they certainly produced a good number of them, -all based around the OBITSU body- from a fairly wide range of Anime series, from MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED and ToHeart 2 to Maid Cafe Pinafore and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
indeed, MegaHouse's "Action Figure Collection PLUS" seemed to be quite prolific throughout most the first decade of the 21st century...
