as some around here may already be well aware, i'm a fan of the little known and appreciated late-1990's Anime/Manga series "Mamotte Shugoetten" by author/artist " Minene Sakurano" that series' female lead, the Moon Goddess "Shaorin" is one of my favorite female Anime/Manga characters, despite her and her series' dubious nature as something of an obvious rip-off of "Ah! My Goddess" and it's legendary female lead goddess "Belldandy" well, this series in question here benefited from a short-lived but immense popularity in japan in it's day, with the expected deluge of marketing. two of the best items made were a pair of dolls of the female lead goddess, one in 1/5 by TSUKUDA HOBBY corp, the other, a small 1/6 example of VOLKS corp's early proto-Dollfie "Ultimate Figure Series" character doll line. well, both of these dolls today are very hard to find outside of Japan. after passing up my opportunity to get the VOLKS version back in 2007/'08 for around $170shipped, i came by the TSUKUDA HOBBY version by way of a dear fellow member another doll forum. though i feel the TSUKUDA HOBBY is the vastly superior of the two, i've had a nagging desire over the last seven years or so to procure the VOLKS as well, first chance i got, providing the price was reasonable. well... i finally got that chance, just a couple days ago, for a very reasonable $50shipped. she should be in my arms in a week or so; (((( TSUKUDA HOBBY version, for Reference ))))

well, the overall quality of her clothing is questionable, and her VOLKS EB MINI body, kind of, well... SUCKS. i can see why the TSUKUDA HOBBY version is so hard to come by; she is a fine representation of the character, and without question the best Shaorin doll one can own, outside of a custom VOLKS Super Dollfie/Dollfie Dream.
she needed a good deal of work to get this presentable. hands and feet needed super-gluing to their nylon base joint parts, -so they'd stop coming loose all the time- and the shoulder pads on the sleeves were coming loose with bad staining from the glue they used in the factory, so i had to paint the fabric white to hide that, before re-gluing the pads, painting them as well to true their color up.
all this, and she still desperately needs a new body. a 21cm. OBITSU should do adequately...
