Well, I thought it would be good to test the photos again, with you the viewer as the judge (though I still have a general idea of which is best to use), so get your answers flowing! ^_^ I've used blue cotton fabric for the background, and I think it really does a better job at bringing out the colour and vibrancy of the figure. I'll be using this exclusively from now on, so get used to it! ^___^ 1. Straight (no enhancements), 1 Fluro:2. Low Exposure, 1 Fluro:3. Low Exp., Fluro setting, 1 Fluro:4. Low Exp., Fluro Setting, 3 Fluros:5. Straight, 3 Fluros:Well, if you know me, you'll guess that the final is the best in my view. #1 is just too flat, #2 is too dark, again for #3 (which is also too saturated in colour), #4 is not the original colours of the figure, but #5 is best, as the 3 lights+no enhancements make it not too bright but not too dark either. The last also just seems to bring out the best of the figure, along with it being good for less shadows on the figure, around the figure, and it isn't too revealing for the fabric either. Okay, still give me your thoughts on these, if you would please. It helps a lot! ^^

For sure number 5 is the best. 2-4 are all too dim, and number 1 has too many shadows around the figure. Very nice job on the pic, BTW.

Thanks! Yeah, I suppose it's a given, that answer - I sort of gave noone a good reason to like any of the others, but you never know. Somebody may like the other effects... What did you think of the fabric use for the setting, eh? I really like it myself! ^^ I think more people should try it. ^_^

I like the fabric use. Gives the background a softer look, like what a photographers studio looks like.

Blue fabric, huh? I always wondered where you got your backgrounds from. And ditto on the final pic being your best. The rest of them are way too dark. But I do think the first one looks about right. Then again, I don't really know anything about this kind of stuff. ^^;;

@ AFB: thanks. I thought it sort of gave it a studio feel too. Kind of like when you take a picture of a painting or sculpture. Well, the figures are sculptures, right? @ L: Thanks! I never used blue fabric until these figure photo tests, L, as the others used blue cardboard. But thanks for liking the use of it and the last photo. The first was nice, but I wanted universal light to give the figures a shine they deserve. You should see the Clalaclan figure! She looks fantastic in this setup! ^___^ <3 ^^;

You mean you use fabric, Lazy?

No, i was talking about the 3 fluros. Before you said that you was using fabric i was thinking that it was paper with a special texture. I did find some interesting textures of paper at a shop near my house but that idea of yours is cheaper and looks a lot better.

Thanks, Lazy. I too like the look of the effect of material like this, and it was lightyears cheaper. I just pinned it up on the wooden wall with thumbtacks. ^^

Image 5 looks good. One small change I might make would be to pull the figure out further from the background and shoot with a slightly shallower depth of field so the blue background blurs a little more and you wouldn't see the horizontal line that the fabric makes along the fold where the floor meets the wall. Or pull the fabric a little tighter and make more of a drape than a fold

Nice suggestion. I was going to iron out that crease anyway, so I hope that resolves that. ^^
Thanks
