It came as a total surprise to me that Organic went from distributor to manufacturer. I just checked their website, and they have an ambitious agenda on where they plan to take the company.
Personally, I applaud the bold move, b/c it means more choice of products for N.A. consumers.

Thats great to hear but I'm a little iffy on exactly what Organic does. I know they do release figures but they might do other things as well(books and other merchandise) but this news means that Organic of USA was only a distributor? Organic is a sub-group/company of Kaiyodo right?
Either way, its good news because that always means cheaper prices with the same quality as the items from Japan~

I remember Organic releasing a Kawazoe Tamaki (Bamboo Blade) figure earlier. Unfortunately I wasn't too taken with the design for that. I do have their Fumika from Shigofumi pre-ordered, and I saw a prototype in their booth area at Comic Con, which was pretty good, which means I'll probably be keeping the pre-order, although the scale seemed off. I also saw their smaller gashapon-style Kodomo no Jikan figures, which I wanted to buy but they wouldn't sell to me unfortunately.
The AAA Anime booth had the new Kokonoe Rin 1/4 FREEing figure, which I originally declined to purchase because I didn't like the face sculpt on the prototype models, but the released figure has a completely different and much more moe expression, making me regret not having pre-ordered it. Once again, they wouldn't sell it to me at the con. Guess I'll just have to wait for the North American release.

Organic was a distributor, both in U.S. and Japan. I also mistakenly thought they were a branch of Kaiyodo (which created the revoltech figs). But they're separate. Unfortunately, they placed Fumika at a really bad angle in the display case, and I couldn't get a decent shot of her w/o glares from the background. Curiously though, Organic took the spot/booth right in front of an entrance, which cost a premium compared to other locations. Not sure it paid off for them b/c the surrounding booths were focused on traditional American products, like books and toys. I'll post an indepth analysis of the Organic Hobby's reorganization in my blog.
