I went to the convention yesterday afternoon. It was surprisingly packed for a Thursday. Since I went in at the opening of the convention to normal guests, I had the widest selection of anime goods to choose from. In exchange, I had no room to negotiate for a discount. My game plan was to look for Infinite Stratos Charlotte Swimsuit figure from Alphamax, Sora no Otoshimono Ikaros figure from Griffon Enterprises, and Persona 4 Rise Kujikawa or Elizabeth figures. No luck on IS Charlotte. I did see the Ikaros figure I wanted, but asking price was $120 and a tad too high for me. Also I wanted the finger tips to touch, and the ones I saw weren't touching; the figures I saw were legit but I guess the stock photo involved some "touchups" on the figure itself. I did not see any Elizabeth figures, which was fine since I have a D-Arts Elizabeth on pre-order already. As for Rise, I was interested in either the limited edition Priestess Rise version or the Taito version. I actually came across both, but the LE figure's sticker price was $149 plus tax; it's a tad too steep for me. So I ended up getting the Rise figure from AnimeSekai.com's booth for $40. NYCC 2013... hmm.. is it usually this late in the year?
The guest list VERY impressive.... I will take await before our comic con get this big.. and our guest don't “BAIL” on the last sec....

you should check out pre-own figures @ amiami... I readed good review.. and it's cheaper than eBay

Yes, the convention is usually held in the fall. It gets tricky for the organizers b/c they have to pick a week that doesn't fall on the jewish holidays.
IS Charlotte armor girls project figure is not out yet, even in Japan. You still have time to pre-order.
I was also looking for Tekkaman figma. But I didn't want to pay $65 for it.

Amiami sent me an invoice this morning. They were off yesterday (10/14), so the turnaround is 1 business day for my order (placed over the weekend). Paypal charged me 95 yen per dollar, which is also reasonable. I'm paying 1,300 yen for unregistered SAL shipping, which is also reasonable. Looking forward to getting the package in the mail. It could turn out that Amiami (used section) is a cheaper alternative to ebay for some items on my want list.

btw, I noticed that for some used items on Amiami, there was a note on the right side indicating that the item is for sale in japan only. is that something they really enforce?
Also, I tried to order 3 quantities of an in stock item, and I got an error message telling me to order less or to delete the order. That's despite the fact that the stated limited quantity was 3. Some quirks I noticed on Amiami that I wanted to share.
