I'm thinking about getting a used 60gb ps3 with 2 controllers(one works only sometimes) and 2 old games and also white knight legend for 260$. good deal or bad, any advise anyone? Have you tried eBay? I have to admit, it seems like a waste if you're going to spend nearly $300 for a used PS3 that's only 60gb and a controller that doesn't really work. You should look into whether any retail stores are still selling bundle packages. Best Buy had a really awesome bundle a while back. If you can't find any now, maybe it'd be better to hold off and wait until the holidays when prices start dropping.

I'm thinking about getting a used 60gb ps3 with 2 controllers(one works only sometimes) and 2 old games and also white knight legend for 260$. good deal or bad, any advise anyone? 1) Paying that price is still better than paying for the latter PS3 of the phat models. 2) If you have a good collection of PS2 games, the Hardware emulation works really nice! 3) The only thing Slim models offers are noise reduction, smaller console and bigger HDD. There is not much of an incentive for people to upgrade their phats for slims unless this were in the 360 case where all Slims have Wi Fi. 4) Controllers are replaceable plus you said only one(out of two) works half the time right? I still really only have one DS3 controller while I tell my buddies to bring theirs or else they're gonna either have to use my arcade stick or my DS2 controller(I have an adaptor). 5) This is a good deal since WKC is still considered a $50 game even with WKC2 announced and the two older games can't be too bad right?

-smallwind-, not sure about the backward capability since I do have ps2 still but its still something cool to have and thanks for the link silm do seem like an alternate option due to size, I'll keep an eye for deals. @lauren, well 60gb can play ps2 games as well and I have a bunch of them so that's the cool part, and one remote still works fine(it comes with two). but another idea is just as you suggested, wait until holiday, or costco, only thing I don't like about bundle deals is that they usually come preselected games and I'm picky when it comes to titles. I don't trust ebay when it comes to gaming system lol @syn, you pretty much listed all the pros and cons. WKC, MGS4 and GOW collection are the games. so I suspect this add some value to the set, still I'm only really carious about WKC. the other games are just there to add value since I'm mainly wanting it for FF13, SO4 and VC. kinda hard to decide now since smallwind suggested that a deal around 200$ can be find for slim..another thing would be considering the age of it, gotta be at least 3 years old compared to a brandnew one. at first my offer was 210$ but seller was saying her bro just got a 60gb recently for 300$...so maybe shes trying to jack up the price there. well see how this plays out, now I just need sometime to think. funny thing is that I've spent more than this on almost every resin pieces I got without much thinking and now I'm tripping over trying to find a good deal lol

Yes one thing you have to consider about the 60GB PS3s are whether they are still in good condition. If it's not YLOD, it's the BD Drive braking down from what I've heard. I took a chance with my 20GB model since the trader was honest and told me that he only uses it for downloaded movies for his kids and DLC games which puts the drive at minimal use and no child damage, he also told me it had broken down but got it fixed from the original place he bought it from with a couple of months of warranty left.
Aside from that, how annoyed are you on the noise consoles give you? 80GB Phat PS3s to the slim are really quiet while initial batches were outfitted with inefficient power sources and smaller fans. Aside from that, Slims load BD a little more faster(only enough for a noticeable difference on paper).
Same with my latest acquirement, I had just bought an Elite 120GB Xbox 360 for $180 Canadian with Best Buy protection til July 2012. I could have gone with the new Slim 360 with Wi Fi but I love my DEATHSMILES faceplate and don't mind the fact that I have to have my 360 connected to a broadband cable(same with my PS3 as well, no wi fi).
White Knight Chronicles still has good value to it, MGS4 and GoW Collection should probably be worth $20 at all Game Stops. Is HDD space important to you? 60GB to 80GB seems just perfect while I wanted the 120GB Elite for Xbox Live Arcade games and other downloads.

320GB PS3s are out now (I may be slower than anyone else to know, but I saw them at the department store yesterday), so I'd go for one of them! ^^

Awesome thing about the PS3 is you can upgrade the 2.5" SATA HDD without voiding your warranty.

@syn, yeah, good thing to point out there. the seller is saying that its in good condition and lightly used. I don't think that's very true since shes got like 15 tiltes for it..too suspicious now and I happens to be superstitious--drifting away from the deal lol

Phat, Slim, it's all good if you generally just going to use the BD and PS3 functions, there are gamers with a good amount of games that do really play lightly, my cousins for example, they have a Uncharted 120GB PS3 with a lot of games(friends and us by for them as gifts). and they hardly have time to play. And if you're optimistic, there's always this for new PS3s and backwards compatibility.

And if you're optimistic, there's always this for new PS3s and backwards compatibility. I'm very excited about the possibility of that. My ps2 still works fine, but it'd be a lot easier to use that than to switch systems all the time.

But if it's region locked then it would be very stupid and too expensive though. Finally a collection photo post from me: Lots of stuff but that's mainly from the Limited Edition portion of Reach(black box edition) while the Legendary Edition comes with the Noble Team statue, DLC limited Legendary Flaming head armor effect, recon helmet and Elite armor. The Black Box package is pretty neat that they took to the time out to include so much misc. little extras plus the recovered journal of a scientist that created Cortana. The Limited Edition was $20 more than the standard while the Lngendary Edition was a whopping $149.99($60 more?), unfortunately I've just had my 360 for week and didn't pre-order it but I did get it trading 4 old PS3 games(MW2, both Blazblue and Disgaea 3) + $50 for the Legendary Edition. For a dying Halo fan, this was a much needed package to get me back into the franchise as well, Reach is Bungie's last Halo game as Microsoft will be taking over.

Now that's what an LE should look like. The legendary edition's for halo games always have great extras.

Indeed, at first I was like "What?? Where's Noble Six???" and then I realized that the sixth member doesn't have a predetermined look which was why at start up of the game, you get to design him/her.
d**n, my XBL Gold is expiring soon, time to cheap out and get the XBL special for trial members~

Now that's what an LE should look like. Seconded. That LE is probably going to be fetching a lot on eBay after it sells out, I'm sure.

The ones listed double the retail price seem to have extras that didn't come with the original package(autographed or the Reach clock that seems to fit the Reach game box)...interesting. I don't think I ever bought anything limited that was sooo big except for Steel Battalion but that was a required thing for it.
