Yes, rilezu cels definitely seem to be far and few in between. It's a shame only a handful of series get selected for rilezu production. Some of them can look really nice. I remember seeing a few Scrapped Princess rilezu a few years back. The images weren't all the great, though. I thought they could've chosen some better scenes to use. Epic scenes.

Hanken mono cels are ridiculous. Good luck trying to afford a good quality one, ugh. I remember seeing a Jubei-chan hanken for well over $1,000! -_-; I think it was used as a magazine or CD ad at the time. Not sure.

scrapped princess was just not epic at all period lol I watched the anime because its got some beautiful char designs, but got totally bored of it by the end.

the problem with some rilezu as some collectors complained is that the colors are not vibrant enough. I've never gotten any so no idea, but then again all those old anime cels are color faded anyways and I've yet to see any cels with super bright colour.

and I've never been able to see the point of collecting hanken either, I mean they are reproduced in massive numbers and expensive beyond reason! even the original was not even used in anime, so whats the collecting point?

When it comes to Scrapped Princess (which I thought was really fascinating) it looks like we'll have to agree to disagree.

And I guess the point in collecting hanken would be for the re-sell value, maybe? I can only see serious (very serious!) collectors with very large bank accounts going after stuff like that.

I don't see the resell value in hanken, been following ebay auctions and every once awhile hanken pops up but I have yet seen one that ended above 100$, sure econ is at fault but reproducing the same image over and over and expect it to have much value, hardly reasonable, theres hardly any selling point besides a mere stunning image, of a copy.

I must admit you're a better eBay scout than I am. I've never come across a single hanken auction so I have no idea what kind of price patterns they follow. But ouch...if a guy buys and hanken and re-sells it at that kind of price he's certainly taking a huge loss. Kind of depressing when you think about it.

@lauren, yeah, that's the place I was talking about that was selling AMG cels for 2k+$...jeez now who in the right mind nowadays would spend that much on a piece from that series? its not like kikyos featured in it ;D

and well I'm not a big fan of slayer so don't want to say anything much but yeah, if they have been up there for over 6 years that just proves the point, haken cels sucks!! I got a little mix feeling about repo cels tho since 2/3 of my favor animes of all time have those..good point is that there not as hard to take care of as real cels.

I ordered from this place back in mid 90s. He was doing internet business on bbs boards. Forgot what I bought, but it was one of my first internet purchases. lol
