ah well, japanese names are hard to remember cuz there usually too darn loooong!! although artists such as sadamoto yushiyuki I might be able to recognize if I see the kanji name, if my childhood memory in china still serves me right. since eva was like a fashion storm back when I lived there.

Unknown and forgotten?
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Fushigi Yuki, To Heart, a ton of macrosses/gundams, Wild Arms, Inu Yasha, Steel Angel Kurumi,Hanaukyo Maid Team, Mamotte Shugogetten (similar to Amg). I'm not 100% sure on the artbook with the yellow uniform maid gal; I believe it was a girl fighting anime show but the name slips from my mind. :/

d**n, I KNEW it looked familiar. Unfortunately, there's TOO MANY anime shows involving gals wearing maid outfits.

well, perhaps 3/4 of what i have up there is not exactly quite "Unknown and forgotten" -even though it often feels that way on most Anime/Manga oriented forums i've been on- but my last photo's contents up there, all from "Mamotte Shugogetten" certainly seems so. now, granted, Shugogetten never was remotely popular in any palpable way outside Japan, and today the series and it's author seem pretty well forgotten even in their homeland, -despite how much of a phenomenon the Anime and manga seemed to be from 1998 to perhaps 2004 or so- but i suppose the series and it's author kind of deserved to have faded away so, since Shugogetten was the author's best and most successful product by far, and all it really is is honestly nothing the least bit beyond a singularly cheap five and dime Ah My Goddess, and it actually rather wears that fact quite proudly on it's sleeve to boot.
i always was very fond of Mamotte Shugogetten, and it's author, Minene Sakurano's character design, particularly Shugoetten's main character Shaorin, but revisiting Ah My Goddess as of late has slammed rather adroitly home just how much a shoddy, el-cheapo mockery of Fujishima-san's masterwork Shugogetten ultimately is, and just how much of a "Budget Belldandy" Shaorin was clearly quite deliberately crafted to be...

it's fine to imitate. The problem is gaining traction among readers.

kind of hard to believe, that FRONTIER is already over a half-decade old, and a product of a much better period in a once far healthier Anime industry...
