That's my intention, yes. But we'll see how it goes in July. The problem w/ pre-orders is that there may be shortages, and not enough allotment to retailers. So it's down to a first come first serve basis. I came in early (heck I waited til 3 am) for the Amiami pre-order period, but relatively late for the CDJapan pre-order. And if AA impose a FSiJ only restriction, it's conceivable that I don't get the figure from either retailer. Obviously I hope that won't happen, but I'm prepared for this scenario.

I'm sorry to point this out to ya. . . FOR SALE IN JAPAN ONLY!!! This means that overseas buyers (i.e. U.S.) cannot buy this figure from these retailers. If you happen to have a good friend living in Japan, you could ask him/her to order it for you. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

well, I only checked AA and CDJ. I suspect it would be true for other sites that ship outside Japan as well. I think either the retailers know that they won't get enough allotment from the first production run to satisfy all pre-orders, OR the manufacturer specifically requested this restriction. If I remember correctly, Good Smile Company will open their own distribution center in California this summer. So GSC is probably steering non-Japanese orders toward their own distribution for fulfillment. Here's my proof for this theory: goodsmile-global.ecq.sc/top/gifscawd00004.htmlThis is the upcoming Infinite Stratos Houki Shinonono swimsuit 1/8 scale figure on the GSC website. Amiami just posted it to their website last night, but it has the FSiJ restriction (along w/ a 25% off pre-order discount). I already have the Beach Queen version, so I won't be interested in this GSC version. But someone who is a big Houki fan would be interested, and will be stuck paying full MSRP (plus GSC's required 2,000 yen per order shipping fee). The FSN Figma Archer is also available at the GSC website, but the price is 5000 yen plus a 2000 yen shipping fee. Yikes! If the FSiJ restriction didn't apply, I could have gotten it from AmiAmi for around 6k yen or so with SAL shipping.

Not necessarily. For example, the 25th anniversary version of Belldandy Holy Bell pvc figure became FSiJ only at Amiami, and even pre-owned they would not sell outside of Japan. No reason to think that Archer will be sold to non-Japanese address even pre-owned.

If they let it slide and let you buy, then that's great. I have that figure myself (used off ebay; btw I paid less than 150 shipped ). But dang! I figured shipping from Japan would be expensive, but 4700 yen!@#$ Whoa!

Seriously, you think the words "For sale in Japan only" on their page mean you can't get them? EVERY figure & goods item I own from AmiAmi has that message on them, and that's about 50 or so things! Oh boy, oh boy - you need to go on a holiday, Antony!

LOL! I've got two bunnies from Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya already, 1/8th scale. No need for a third bunny, not for 20k yen at any rate. >_>
