From an anime fan's viewpoint, Genshiken was an incredibly educational experience, haha. ^^

I dunno about the anime adaptation but the manga was really great and the fact that it's only 9 volumes, you would think that the artist would try to milk it out but had the sense to end it perfectly. Loved the relationship between Kasukabe and Kousaka, no matter how hardcore he was, she couldn't change him lol! Just about all the otaku references made was pretty awesome~ Anyone know how the English manga works now in volumes? I just picked up a load of Mangas that I haven't picked up in a while from my comic guy and noticed that the latest Air Gear came in a 3 in 1 combined volume. I gotta ask about the last 2(or 3) volumes of Tsukihime while only one volume of Ecole du Ciel came out. My comic guy is telling my that Tokyo Pop may have dropped it so at the moment now, it's waiting to be picked up by another company. Interesting, I wonder how the binding will handle such size...I'm weary of the binding bending. Running out of space again on my bookshelf, placed my completed mangas on the bottom and on top so save space...Maybe I should just place volume one of the ongoing and completed manga and stick a sticky note under it saying "completed" or "on going".

A lot of the manga publishers have been doing these large "omnibus" volumes lately. Most of them are either re-releases of previously completed series, others are license rescues of series that didn't finish their run with the previous publisher. The new publisher releases the series in omnibus form to finish it out quicker and move on to other series'.

Ah that makes good sense and sounds efficient, the only 'Omnibus' style manga I've seen was Azumanga but it was bigger in dimension for the entire 4koma series.

That's why I buy Japanese editions! They don't bend so badly! ^________^

Read the latest Future Diary the other day. This series just keeps getting more freaky with every volume.
Starting up Venus Versus Virus next. The whole series is only 8 volumes, so it should be a quick read if I get enough time.

Average volumes I finish at are just about 20 - 30 minutes per volumes but I suppose that's because I "stare" at some of the pages for no reason lol!
Just finished Tokyo Pop's last volume of MSG: Ecole Du Ciel, ended at a good part and now I'll just have to wait for another publisher to pick it up. My current read list: Dance in the Vampire Bund vol. 5 - 7 Pumpkin Scissors volume 5 Gantz vol. 5 - 11 Air Gear vol. 8 - 17 Alive vol. 8 I think that's all I picked up...I think.

I know what you mean, I finished volume 7 and immediately wanted the next volume in my hands. Next volume of Future Diary comes out on Nov. 2nd, I think. Next Tuesday the new volume of Dance in the Vampire Bund comes out. Can't wait! ^_^

Finished the last volume of Cheeky Angel today. That's 20 volumes in total over the course of...a year, I think? The ending was fantastic. So much better than the lame anime ending.

Well, those who are so happy about Genshiken will be pleased that the author is going to continue it, if even a small storyline....

Sweet, will it be brought over? I guess it's a short story of them after graduating because it wouldn't be Genshiken without the characters we know.
